de Bono's six thinking hats
This is something I created using de Bono's six thinking hats that is fun and hopefully effective :) need to make words a bit bigger but it will do for now...
Wiki spaces
Not sure if I am a wiki fan or not? I understand how to use the tools I just don't understand the pages and the discussions? What is what?
while playing, I found in wiki spaces that you can tag blogs that you find. I tagged one of my own blogs about mobile phones in the classroom. You go to Manage Wiki and scroll down to Import Blog Post (pretty straight forward) and then you just add the blogs url and it finds all the different blogs posted on the persons blog. I like! Linking is way easier then typing or copying and pasting :)
That's all for now, when I figure out how to use my wiki I will write a song and dance about it...

Should mobile phones be used in the class room?
I never thought mobile phone usage in the classroom would be a considered option, but as the technology grows mobile phones are becoming more children friendly. If mobile phones were used for educational purposes than that’s fine, but we all know that wouldn't be the case. I know if I was given a phone in school I would be doing what I wanted just like I did in IT classes at school.
I believe if you are old enough to have a job, earn your own money and are capable of the responsibility to pay for your phone than you should be allowed to own a phone but kids are kids and they don't understand the value or the responsibility yet. Most parents get their children phones because they are nagged enough by their child or they want to be able to contact their child whenever they want. I know from experience that my step brothers both got mobile phone at the age of 11 & 14 and never did they have the phone switched on, on them or have any credit in case of an emergency.
If we allow mobile phones to be in the classroom/school it just gives children another way for bullying and peer pressure. When I was at school it was, what bag brand and pencil case you had but now it will be what brand bag and pencil case and oooh do you only have the $50 phone? I want to know why kids are taking their phone to school if they aren't allowed to use it. What purpose will a mobile phone offer that a computer won’t?
I don't agree on phones in the classroom or children even having a mobile phone but this is our technology world, and we are either going to have to be acceptant of it and somehow introduce it in a positive way or keep locking up phones during school hours.

Power Point Backgrounds
I found this website, it has funky backgrounds for power points. I have below dinosaurs, space and snowflakes (the snow flakes move in the slideshow). These backgrounds would be useful when teaching a class about dinosaurs, planets or seasons. www.brainybetty.com
Week 3
Hi all,
I am in week 3 of uni and am LOVING IT! Ok yes it's overwhelming and very challenging but its worth it. I have made some wonderful friends already. They put up with my inappropriate humour and I put up with their terrible jokes... :) its perfect! Just kidding guys :)
Maths & English is good I am re learning everything I learned in school and it finally makes sense now, POUL is fixing up my bad habbits and e-learning is helping my broaden my technology skills.
So far I have only cried once in my first week after it all sunk in but now I am happy and loving my decision to study to be a teacher... we will see how I feel in another years time :S

Study = Eat too much
Andrea and I have been studying together on this miserable, cold and rainy day. I am noticing that study = eat what ever food you want to eat. We have had 1 coffee, mixed lollies, Carbonara ravioli, blackforest chocolate and now a cup of tea. Seriously why does studying mean eat what ever you want? Is it because I am studying I think this isn't going to make me fat? Cut bad habits now before its too late....
